Fitness and health events for senior citizens are being held Wednesday around Ventura County as part of a national day committed to the cause.
The totally free events are prepared in Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Ventura.
A quick look at the particulars:
Camarillo Health Care District prepares an event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the district's office, Suite E-117, 3639 Las Posas Road, Camarillo. A tasting of fitness classes and health screenings will be offered.
Goebel Adult Community Center will offer mini golf, table tennis, billiards, horseshoes, Zumba and other activities from 10 a.m. to noon at the center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
Ventura County Area Agency on Aging plans a health and wellness fair from 9 a.m. to twelve noon at Ventura County Park, 901 S. Kimball Road, Ventura. Health screenings and details will be provided along with demonstrations of cooking, CPR and yoga.
National Senior Health & Fitness Day is held the last Wednesday of May each year.
It is organized as public-private collaboration by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national info clearinghouse.
